Recently a major owner/operator of offshore rigs had a rush requirement for a coffer dam. Designed to seal under the water level on the hull of a semi-submersible drilling rig, the coffer dam provides a dry work space for hull repair, painting, and anode replacement without the need to dry dock the rig.

Dynafab assisted with the design of the coffer dam, fabricated it, and delivered on time to the customer. The coffer dam was placed into immediate service and is working flawlessly, saving dry dock costs and adding many days of available service to the rig. Additionally, it is being transported to other rigs for repair work without having to bring the rig to a shipyard for service.
